Charles Baudelaire is one of my all-time favorite poet and an endless inspiration.
He is widely considered the father of modern poetry.
If Verlaine poetic style was innovating but rather conventional in the subjects choice, on the contrary Baudelaire would stay within the structure of the sonnet of classical tradition but introducing in his poems completely new themes and unprecedented language.
